Eligibility criteria:
Citizenship:
Candidates should be either a
citizen of India; a subject of Nepal; a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee
who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently
settling in India.
Age limit:
For Geologist, Geophysicist and
Chemist (Group 'A') in the Geological Survey of India, an attached office of
Ministry of Mines, Government of India: Candidates applying for this post
should age between 21 and 32 years
For Junior Hydrogeologists
(Scientist B), Group A in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water
Resources: Candidates applying for this post should age between 21 and 35
years.
Age relaxation is applicable for
candidate belonging to reserved category.
Educational qualifications:
For Geologist (Group 'A'): Candidates applying for this
post should have obtained a Master's degree in Geological Science or Geology or
Applied Geology or Geo exploration or Mineral exploration or Engineering
Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or
Oceanography and Coastal Area studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum
Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology.
For Geophysicist (Group 'A'): Candidates applying for this
post should have obtained a MSc degree in Physics/Applied Physics or a MSc
degree in Geophysics or Integrated MSc in Exploration Geophysics or MSc in
Applied Geophysics/Marine Geophysics or MSc (Tech) in Applied Geophysics.
For Chemists (Group 'A'): Candidates applying for this
post should have obtained a MSc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical
Chemistry.
For Junior Hydrogeologists: Candidates applying for this
post should have obtained a Master's degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Marine
Geology. Besides, the candidates should have a Master's degree in
Hydrology.

In order to apply, the candidates

www.upsconline.nic.in and fill in the applications, online. No other mode of
applications will be accepted.
Application fee:
Candidates are required to pay an
application fee of Rs 200 either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI
by cash or by net banking facility or by using visa/master card/debit card.
